Dog sledding

Dog sledding is a means of locomotion used by northern aboriginal peoples to get around in winter. It was adopted by early explorers and trappers as the most efficient means of transporting goods over rugged, snow-covered terrain. This one-hour physical activity requires a short introduction to sledding and safety precautions.

For safety reasons, the maximum weight per sled cannot exceed 400-450 lb. One guide can handle two sleds at a time. Drivers must be at least 13 years old and weigh 100 lb. Minors are always accompanied by an adult, and toddlers are admitted but must sit on the lap of a responsible passenger.
